We are proud to announce that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has officially issued an Operating License to FHA Energy Distribution Limited (FHA EDL), marking a major milestone in our journey to transform electricity distribution across Federal Housing Authority estates in Nigeria.
This license authorizes FHA EDL to operate as an Independent Electricity Distribution Network (IEDN), allowing us to generate, distribute, and manage power within designated residential communities developed by the Federal Housing Authority. With this license, FHA EDL is now empowered to provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy directly to households, businesses, and public facilities within FHA-managed estates.
The license issuance is a testament to the Federal Government’s continued support for energy sector reforms and the promotion of private-sector-led initiatives that expand access to electricity. It also reinforces FHA EDL’s commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure, deploying smart grid technology, and ensuring operational excellence.
FHA EDL is already deploying innovative solutions to address the longstanding challenges of power supply in residential communities. With this license in place, we will scale up operations, improve energy efficiency, and build resilient energy systems that serve as models for modern urban electrification in Nigeria.
We are grateful to NERC for the trust placed in us and to our partners for their continued collaboration. Most importantly, we are committed to serving our customers with integrity, transparency, and a relentless focus on service delivery.
This license is not just a regulatory approval—it is a mandate to light up lives, power communities, and contribute meaningfully to national development. At FHA EDL, the future is electric—and it’s just beginning.
